Semester End

Wow! Times flies when you are having fun!

Testing is in full swing here at BHS...end of course, benchmarks and semester exams.

Overdrive Media is up and running. If anyone would like help accessing the ebooks, please email, call or come by the library and I will be glad to get you started! I have really enjoyed the program!

New books are cataloged and shelved and Mrs. Nix and I are looking forward to next semester and research with all of our students.

Increasing Student and Faculty Use of eBooks

One of my goals for the BHS Digital Media Center is to increase the use of ebooks by my students and faculty members.

I have subscribe to Overdrive Media and am using it as a testing ground this year to see if I want to try to go district wide.

Another option is to purchase more ebooks through Follett and teach my students how to use Follett Shelf.

Either way, I hope to increase circulation and read a great article written by The Unpretentious Librarian. You can read that here: Increasing ebook Usage.

If you have any ideas that would help me reach this goal, I would love to have you post them on this blog.

Summer is over and the first day of school is right around the corner. Let's rock this year!

Yay! It's Friday! I hope to have several hours to spend reading this weekend! What about you? Any great and wonderful plans for the next couple of days?

I have started reading a great book by Kami Garcia: Beautiful Creatures. A movie based on this book was released a few months ago. I didn't get a chance to see it when it was in theaters, so will have to wait for it to be released on DVD.
